Brian Fontaine-Isaac is honored to serve as the Artistic Director and conductor for Encore Creativity for Older Adults, the nation’s largest, and fastest growing, choral organization. 

Encore’s mission is to deliver high quality performing arts experiences for adults over 55, with a specific focus on inclusion, accessibility, and community-building through singing. As Artistic Director, Brian manages a team of 20 conductors and 1,500+ singers across 43 ensembles throughout the United States, presenting 55 - 60 public performances per season. He also manages a national online arts education program for older adults called Encore University.

For six seasons (2017 - 2023), Brian also led the 85-voice Alexandria Choral Society as its Artistic Director and conductor. During his tenure, the choral society has been recognized for its adventurous and diverse programming, commitment to commissioning new music by underrepresented composers, and its focused outreach, scholarship, and performance partnerships with Alexandria-based arts organizations. 

Prior to arriving at Encore Creativity for Older Adults, Brian was the Managing Director of the classical music recording company Arts Laureate. There, he led a national virtual team of 50 project managers, audio and video editors, and engineers in producing over 1500 virtual and live performance recordings for nationally recognized clients like LA Master Chorale, LA Opera, Washington Concert Opera, and the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Other previous appointments include: Founder and Artistic Director of Church Circle Singers, Artistic Director of the Williamsburg Choral Guild, Interim Director of Choral Music at Thomas Nelson Community College, adjunct music faculty at Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University, Assistant Conductor with the Washington Master Chorale, and Director of Choirs at Damascus High School.

Brian holds a Master of Music in Music Education from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Music Education from Old Dominion University. A former Marine, Brian also holds a Bachelor of Science in English from the United States Naval Academy.
